Overview
Enpass is an offline-first password manager founded in 2013, with operations in India and Hong Kong. Rather than hosting vaults itself, it stores them locally and syncs through the user's own cloud storage, with business plans layered on top.
What it is good at
The bring-your-own-cloud model is the differentiator: vaults sync through your own Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or a local folder, so Enpass never holds your data. It offers a one-time purchase path alongside subscriptions, broad platform coverage including mobile, and a business edition for teams that want managed vaults without a vendor-held cloud. Hardware-key support, biometric unlock, and unlimited vaults on the one-time license make it appealing to people who want to pay once and own their data.
Where it falls short
Because there is no vendor cloud by default, central admin, audit, and governance are lighter than cloud-native business managers, and enterprise SSO and SCIM are limited. Sync reliability depends on the third-party storage you choose, and team collaboration features are less developed than dedicated business platforms.
Pricing
One-time license and subscription options for individuals; per-user business plans. Compare models with the TCO calculator.
Best for, and who should look elsewhere
Choose Enpass when you want offline-first control and to pick your own sync storage. For managed cloud and richer admin see Dashlane or NordPass; for a fully local file see KeePassXC.
Bottom line
A local-first manager for users who want to choose where their vaults live rather than trust a vendor cloud.
